Today all Singaporean at heart.
Opened in 1887, it is one of the few remaining great 19th century hotels in the world.
The hotel is now fully closed with a planned reopening in the second half of 2018.
We visited Raffles Hotel on 2 occasions, one being Christmas Day lunch at Halia Restaurant, which was a joy.A century after its opening, the hotel was declared a National Monument by the Singapore Government and today, its colonial architecture is beautifully preserved, allowing it to stand out from the contemporary style of its surrounding neighbours in the business and civic district. With a planned reopening in the second half of 2018, you can expect to experience Raffles charming ambiance and legendary service and enjoy newly opened bars, restaurants, courtyards, and social areas; spaces designed to make Raffles the place to meet, spend time, shop and celebrate. The Raffles Gift Shop will remain open throughout our restoration, moving to a temporary location at 3 Seah Street from December 2017.
